Ernest Voyles (Plainview)

Ernest Voyles, 86, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 23, 2010, at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Manuel Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Voyles was born on November 3, 1924, in Winona, Missouri to Preston Thomas and Matilda Jane Broadfoot Voyles. He moved to Plainview in 1943. Ernest married Nora Pearl Clayton on September 3, 1944. He is survived by his children, Richard Voyles of Plainview, David Voyles of Amarillo, Jack Voyles of Plainview, Jimmy Voyles of Plainview, Gloria Alston of Plainview, Mark Voyles of Arcadia, OK, Kenneth Voyles of Portland, TX and Tracy Voyles of Plainview, his siblings, Lloyd Voyles of Redondo Beach, CA, Paul Voyles of Plainview, Mary Harris of Plainview, Lucille Henderson of Lubbock, and Sammy Voyles of Plainview, thirty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Nora Voyles, his parents, a son, Roger Voyles, and a sister, Daisy Wood. Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 1300 N.
