Cherry Janine Killian (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Cherry Killian, 81, passed way on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in Tulia. Graveside Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Mr. Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Cherry was born on November 24, 1929 in Happy, Texas to Leslie and Eunice Raymond. She grew up in Happy and graduated from Happy High School. She also graduated with a degree in English from West Texas State. She worked for Kerr Paper Company, Hubb Clothiers, and as a receptionist for the Warlick Thomas Law firm. She was mainly a homemaker later in her life. When her boys were young, she served as the Team Mother for their YMCA Baseball team. She married R.H. “Red” Killian. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her two sons, Kim Killian and wife Pam of Amarillo, Kent Killian of Tulia; and three grandchildren, Kara Killian, Courtney Killian, and Briann Killian.
