Gay Sims(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas--Gay Sims, 68, died Monday, December 27, 2010 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Gay was born on December 12, 1942 in San Diego, CA to Corky (Carvel Carl) and Marie Sims. The family moved to Tulia, TX when she was five years old. Gay graduated from Tulia High School in 1961. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Over the years she enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, painting and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2005. She worked for First National Bank in Tulia, Norwest Bank and Wells Fargo Bank in Tulia and Lubbock for a total of 42 years. Ms. Sims was preceded in death by her father Corky Sims, and her sister Pat Anderson. She is survived by her mother: Marie Sims of Logan, NM, her brother: Steve Sims of Fort Worth, TX, her brother-in-law: Walter Anderson of Tulia, TX, her nieces and nephews: Belinda Mollan and husband Walter, Teresa Jackson, Carl Anderson, Eddie Sims, Pam Trujillo and 8 great nieces and nephews.
