Zora Webb (Plainview)

Zora Webb, 103, of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 15, 2011, at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating, assisted by Dr. Max Browning. Family burial will be at 11:30 A.M., in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 P.M., Friday at the funeral home. Born Zora Ellen Swaim on December 13, 1907, in Arlington, she was the youngest child of Frank and Eliza Henshaw Swaim, pioneer citizens of Tarrant County. She moved with her family to Olney at age 11 and attended schools there. She married W.A. “Bill” Webb on September 11, 1926. They moved to Plainview in 1947. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, later moving to First United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Bill Webb & wife Dorothy of Arlington and Lynn Webb of Lubbock, four daughters, Peggy Rankin & husband Wayne of Plainview, Glenda Bishop of Plainview, Jean Ann Cook of San Antonio and Nancy Winterburn of Plainview, fourteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren & one on-the-way, eight great-great grandchildren & two on-the-way and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank G. and Eliza Ellen Swaim, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Webb, a son-in-law, Charles Winterburn, Sr., her former husband, W.A. “Bill” Webb, one brother and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Runningwater Draw Care Center, 800 W. 13th Street, Olton, Texas 79064, Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road, Suite C, Plainview, Texas 79072, or to a charity of your choice.
