Allice McMennamy (Plainview)

Allice McMennamy, 94, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011, in Plainview. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Plainview Cemetery with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. McMennamy was born on October 21, 1916, in Johnson County, Texas, to H.O. “Oscar” and Grace McPherson. She married Thomas Dowell McMennamy, Jr. on August 13, 1937. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She loved art and music and played the piano for other residents at Prairie House Living Center. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by a son, Barry McMennamy & wife Janie of Plainview, a daughter-in-law, Lynn McMennamy of Plainview, four granddaughters, D’Ann McGuire of Shallowwater, Deedra Bowles of Longview, Tonjua Smith of Plainview and Teresa Kinkaid of Plainview, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Melvin, one brother, two sisters, one grandson and one great grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
