Tulia, Texas— Larry J. “Clyde” Hawthorne, 52, died Monday, April 2, 2007 in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Central Church of Christ with Eben Emerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Hawthorne was born May 14, 1954 to JW and Verda Hawthorne. He graduated from Tulia High School where he participated in basketball, football and track. He married Mae Brookins in Tulia in 1973. To this union, 3 children were born. Larry was a member of Central Church of Christ in Tulia. Larry is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mae Hawthorne of Tulia, one son; Dwain Hawthorne and wife Shirley of Amarillo, Texas, two daughters; Sabrina Marshall and husband Tim of Amarillo, Texas and Sheila Hawthorne of Denver, Colorado, his mother; Verda Hawthorne of Tulia, Texas, his grandmother; Elizabeth Garrett of Tulia, Texas, one brother; Willie Hawthorne and wife Brenda of Amherst, Texas, three sisters; Doris Moore and husband Samuel of Grand Prairie, Texas, Theresa Ross and husband Charles of Amarillo, Texas and Lula Sansom and husband Michael of Plainview, Texas, one uncle; Arvin Bailey of Amarillo, Texas, four grandchildren; Shantasjahrae Hawthorne, Jordan Hawthorne, Timmahrre Marshall and Sabrya Marshall and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
