Tulia, Texas—Johnnie Mae Hall Wright, 89, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Decatur, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Jackson Chapel Church Of God In Christ. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Johnnie Mae Hall Wright was born to the parents of Will and Ida Mae Turner on May 16, 1921 in Fairfield, Texas. She was the third child of seven children. She attended school in Fairfield. Then she later moved to Kerens, Texas as a young child. She eventually became of age where she could start working. She worked for Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Kitty Ervin for many years as their caretaker. She was a cotton picker and a house sitter for many people. She loved watching and attending wrestling events with family. She enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo with her daughter and friends. After her arrival in Decatur, Georgia she would sit on the front porch and just enjoy the fresh air and watching the cars pass by. She also loved to listen to music and dance with her family while in Decatur, Georgia until the Lord called her home on Wednesday evening of January 19, 2011. She leaves behind to enjoy her memories, one daughter: Bobbie Goins of Decatur, Georgia, two sons: Johnny B. Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Willie B. Hall of Keller, Virginia. She also leaves with memories: 38 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 48 great, great grandchildren. Also many host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by: her mother, father, three sisters and one son.
