Tulia, Texas—Georgia Lee, 93, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Bruce Baird officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Georgia Mae Grace was born February 27, 1917 to Albert Leroy Grace and Lela Bertha Fulfer Grace in Petersburg. She grew up in Matador and graduated Matador High School. She lived in Swisher County for 57 years. She married Jesse Lee on December 19, 1933. She worked for the Tulia School District, Blair’s Cleaners and Royal Park Fashions. Mr. Lee passed away May 7, 1988. She was a mother to her family, an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, was quick witted and an astute learner. She always put her family first and was the most unselfish person and saw the good in everyone. Her family includes six sons: Freddie Lee of Hale Center, Donald Lee and wife Juanita of Tulia, Tommy Lee and wife Judy of Amarillo, Gary (Joe) Lee and wife Rita of Tulia, Robert Lee and wife Sherry of Canadian and Billy Lee and wife Vicki of Rising Star, three daughters: Shirley Scott of Levelland, Betty Meadows and husband Dwayne of Pampa and Carolyn Kiker and husband Jim of Tulia, 31 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; A.L. and Lela Grace, her husband; Jesse Lee, one son; Johnny Lloyd Lee, two sisters; Alice Freeman and Ruby Ellithorp and two brothers; Elton Grace and Johnny Grace. Memorials may be made to the Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Rd. Suite C, Plainview, Texas 79072 or the Tulia Cemetery Association, PO Box 116, Tulia, Texas 79088.
