Doris Belle Hearn, 84, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Garland Street Church of Christ with Tony Dominquez and Weldon Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hearn was born in Ringgold, Georgia March 17, 1926 to Mamie and C.C. Fowler. Her family moved to Texas near Memphis in 1928 where she attended schools. In February of 1947, she married Ray Hearn also of Memphis. They moved to Amarillo and lived there until moving to Plainview in 1970. Mr. Hearn died in 1984. Mrs. Hearn attended South Plains College, and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Human Services. She worked as a substance abuse counselor for Central Plains MHMR for 16 years. Survivors include one son and daughter in law: Rodney and Debbie Hearn of Plainview; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hearn; parents, Mamie and C.C. Fowler; a daughter, Dianne Barnes; a sister, Winifred Yarbrough; and a grandson, Ronnie Hearn.
