Troy Wayne James, 56, of Fort Worth, passed away Saturday April 14, 2007 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview with Russell Harris officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. James was born on February 12, 1951 in Plainview to J.D. and Patsy James. He graduated from Plainview High School. He married Carolyn Harris on April 4, 1986 in Plainview. Troy’s life was characterized by his faith in God and his love and devotion to his many friends and family. He was a dedicated member of his church and involved himself in the choir where he loved to sing. Troy loved helping people by any means necessary. He had a great sense of humor and was always smiling. Troy was an avid golfer and enjoyed driving his red charger and playing with his dog, Freckles. He was a great racquetball player and rarely missed a chance to go to the lake. His selfless and positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone around him. All who knew him will dearly miss him. He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Carolyn James of Fort Worth; His Father, J.D. James of Plainview; His children, Jason James and wife Sammy of Amarillo, Amber Robbins of Amarillo, Ron Whittington of Fort Worth and Rainey Smith and husband Travis of Fort Worth; Three brothers: Mark James of Plainview, Jimmy James of Plainview and Ross James of Tulia; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy James. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
