Larry McDonald (Plainview)

Larry Gene McDonald, 62, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 in Plainview. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Larry was born on July 31, 1948 in Plainview to Pete and Evalene McDonald. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1967. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon and received his degree in Business in 1971. He went to work for the Banking Industry and started at City National Bank. He worked for various banks in Plainview. He was a member of the Kiwanis, helped with organizing the 4th of July Fireworks show, Emmaus Community, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Karla Ann Falk on June 9, 1973 in LaVeta, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Karla Ann McDonald; one daughter, Holley Ann Pinson and husband Brandon of Midland; one son, Kip Bradley McDonald of Dallas; his mother, Evalene McDonald of Plainview; one brother, David McDonald and wife Doris of Plainview and their children Crystal McDonald of Lubbock and Clay McDonald of Washington, D.C.; one granddaughter, Suzanna Pinson of Midland. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete McDonald in 2005. Memorials may be made to Plainview Christian Academy, 310 S. Ennis, Plainview, Texas 79072.
