Waedine Young (Tulia)

TULIA – Waedine Young, 93, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, in Richardson, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Bruce Baird and Bob Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Waedine was born on March 26, 1917, in DeLeon, Texas to A.B. and Mary Etta Stephens. The family moved from Comanche County to Hall County where she met her husband, Guy Young. They came to Tulia in 1942. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ. Waedine worked at the Tot to Teen Shop for several years. She was a long time member of the RSVP, Senior Citizens and several square dance clubs and a wonderful homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Young in 1995 and four siblings, Irene, Marynell, Eloise and Jimmy Joe. Survivors include a son Don Young and wife Gaye of Tulia, a daughter, Vicki Ulbrich and husband Ken of Richardson, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, three brothers, Gale Stephens, Warren Stephens and Bill Stephens.
