Billie Heard (Plainview)

Billie Lee Heard, 83 of Petersburg passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at her home. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Heard was born on January 18, 1924 in Floyd County to Erx and Anna Lee Williams. She grew up in the Harmony Community and attended schools in Floydada. She graduated from Petersburg High School. She married S.R. “Pockets” Heard in 1943. She was a partner in Country Antiques on Hwy 400 for many years. She also had a store in Lubbock for several years. She later opened Antiques by Billie in Plainview. Mrs. Heard was a member of the First Methodist Church in Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Sandra Heard, and a son, Jerry Heard. Survivors include a son, Sam Heard of Petersburg; two grandsons, Coy Heard of Petersburg and Shaun Heard of Austin, Texas.
