Tulia, Texas—Nancy Fisher, 78, died Friday, March 11, 2011 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Nancy was born May 15, 1932 in Lewisville, Arkansas where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended two years at Southern Arkansas University and then she moved to Texas. She married Travis Fambro on December 21, 1952. He died April 14, 1972. She worked as a bookkeeper in Tulia at Bates Shoe Store and Amburn’s in Tulia. She married Ward Fisher on June 10, 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband: Ward Fisher of Tulia, her daughter and son-in-law: Cathey and Phillip Gunkey of Tulia, TX, her step-daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Bobby Shipp of Tulia, TX, Jan and Jimmy McCaslin of Tulia, TX, Vicki and Scott Sheets of Brewster, Kansas, her step-son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy and Debbie Fisher of Tulia, TX, 2 granddaughters: Shaunda Pyle of Amarillo, TX and Amy Gunkey of Amarillo, TX, 1 great granddaughter: Ashley Askins of Amarillo, TX, 13 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: William and Lola Mae King, her first husband: Travis Fambro, her son: Tommy Lynn Fambro and a granddaughter: Lisa Dawn Gunkey.
