TULIA – Edgar “Bunk” Mills, 85, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Hale Center, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Edgar was born on May 1, 1925, in Silverton, Texas to Isaac Marvin and Anna Ola Mills.He graduated from Silverton High School and attended West Texas State College. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier after 40 years of service in January 1998. He was President of the Texas Rural Letter Carriers for twelve years. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Jo Neatherlin Mills, his second wife, Emily Seedig Hefley Mills, his parents, a son, Joe Ed Mills, a step daughter, Annette Hefley Barclay, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include a daughter,Ann Harrison and husband Mike of Abernathy, Texas, a step daughter, Sonja Hefley Bliss of Guatemala, two step sons, Fred Hefley and wife Kay Lynn of Walsh, Colorado and Malcolm Hefley and wife Debby of Walsh, Colorado, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
