Tulia, Texas—Hazel J. Davis, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Lockney. A family and friends visitation is scheduled from 9:00 to 10:00 am Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, Tennessee with a procession to leave the funeral home at 10:00 am to the graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Athens, Tennessee. Local arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia, Texas and graveside arrangements are under the care of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, Tennessee. Hazel was born on March 20, 1926 in Athens, Tennessee to Rev. Thomas Jolley and his wife Iva Mae. She attended schools in Athens and graduated from McMinn High School. She married Edward Davis on October 26, 1946. They moved to Tulia, Texas in 1952 and she worked as a Nurse and later as a Dental Assistant. They moved back to Tennessee before she returned to Tulia in 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and helped out in the Nursery. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1996. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, H.C. Jolley, John Wesley Jolley and one sister, Ima Gean Jolley. Survivors include her four children, Vicki Perkins and husband Tom of Silverton, Debi O’Connor and husband Dave of Amarillo, Nancy Ann Davis of Carlsbad, N.M., and Darrin Davis of Jacksboro, Texas; one brother, Edwin Jolley of Chatanooga, Tennessee; 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
