Naomi DeJarnett Weathers, 90, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at First Baptist Church ~ Family Life Chapel with Rev. Ron Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 P.M., Monday, March 28, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Naomi was born on May 4, 1920 in Quitaque, Texas to Garland Henry and Sylvia Ann Rieff. Her mother passed away when she was thirteen years old, so she and her older sister took care of the younger children. She met and married Major “Mike” DeJarnett in Cotton Center on March 19, 1939. They farmed there for many years until he passed away in 1965. She later moved to Lubbock where she met and married J.L. “Len” Weathers on April 18, 1970. They moved to Petersburg where they lived for fourteen years. He passed away in 1984. In 1992, Naomi moved to Plainview and attended First Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, three sisters, Gladys Hudgins, Evelyn Allen and Opal Barnes and a brother, Glen Rieff. Survivors include her sons, Don & Sandra DeJarnett of Hale Center, TX and Ken & Brenda DeJarnett of McAllen, TX, her step-daughter, Carol & Troy Fox of Petersburg, TX, her step-sons, Jim & Lavenia Weathers of Ft. Worth, TX and Alan & Priscilla Weathers of Spring, TX, her siblings, Henry Rieff of Cotton Center, Edith Sims of Plainview, Mildred Hammit of Hale Center and Ruby Barber of Benton, AR, eleven grandchildren, Brian & Christa DeJarnett of Norfolk, VA, Matt & Nicole Hobson of Houston, TX, Gary DeJarnett of Hale Center, TX, Rex & Deborah Witten of Hale Center, TX, Devin Lewis of Seattle, WA, Scotty & Jennifer Bruington of Ft. Stockton, TX, Doug & Julie Porter of Keller, TX, Dusty & Corrie Sides of Brock, TX, Aaron & Jaime Larmer of Ft. Worth, TX, Jeff Weathers of Austin, TX and Daniel Weathers of Austin, TX, and fourteen great grandchildren, James Hobson of Houston, TX, Austin & Grant Witten of Hale Center, TX, Brooke, Tanner, Kyle & Dillon Bruington of Ft.
