John Thomas Willhite (Plainview)

John Thomas Willhite, 48, of Plainview died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Hall County. Funeral services will be held on 10 A.M. Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Alice Catholic Church with Father Pat Maher officiating and Father Samuel Oracion assisting. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening at 5:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. John was born on October 23, 1962 in Hanford, California to William M. and Alice Willhite. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended schools there. He attended college at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy as an E-5 Corman and served for over 12 years. He moved to Texas in 1995 and moved to Plainview in 2004. He has worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 16 years most recently as a Risk Manager 4 for Region 5. He was member of St. Alice Catholic Church. John married Maria Rita Yambao on March 16, 1988 in Aurora, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Rita Willhite of Plainview; one son, Brock Thomas Willhite and wife Heather of Kaysville, Utah; five brothers, Marvin Willhite and wife Janice of Hanford, California, Truman Wilhite and wife Cynthia of Hanford, California, William H. Willhite and wife Kayen of Hanford, California, Alvin Willhite and wife Tammy of Valley Falls, Kansas, Calvin Willhite of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Marsha Meyer and husband Brad of Hesston, Kansas, Aleta Irvan of Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Chloe Willhite and Brody Willhite of Kaysville, Utah. John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Jerry Willhite, and one sister, Marjorie Willhite.
