Tulia, Texas--J C Mabry, Jr., 76, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2011 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport and Rev. Greg Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A family and friends visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00pm. JC was born June 11, 1934 in Hydro, Oklahoma to James Claude and Nona Faye Mabry, Sr. He lived in Tuttle, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Brownfield, California, Lamesa, Lubbock and then Tulia. He graduated from Tulia High School. He married Betty Lou Kimbell on November 24, 1955 in Tulia. He was drafted in the US Army in December 1956 and served at Ft. Bliss in El Paso until Dec. 1958. He returned to Lubbock and worked for Bell Milk Co. in Lubbock and Lamesa. They moved back to Tulia in 1959. He worked for Swisher Electric as a Warehouseman retiring after over 30 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Betty Mabry of Tulia, two daughters and sons-in-law: Belinda and Keith Gentry of Wichita Falls and Cindy and Bob Bartram of Tulia, one son and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Delynn Mabry of Tulia, two sisters: Deona Haile of Comfort and Sandra Sue Conner of Shallowater, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
