Helen Ray Townsend Workman, 96, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Edmonson, with Rev. Brian Barkley officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Helen was born on February 10, 1915 in Sugargrove, Arkansas to Oscar and Leona Townsend. She married Pete Workman on May 12, 1935 in Clovis, New Mexico. They lived in Woodrow, Texas from 1930 to 1950. They then moved to Edmonson. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Edomonson. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Mattox and husband Gary of Lubbock; grandsons, Doug Keesee and wife Tonya of Plainview, Danny Mattox and wife Claudia of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter, Lorie Mattox of Birmingham, AL; great-granddaughter, Kory Musquez and husband Jon of Lubbock; great-grandson, Chris Kaiser of Tulia; great great-grandson, Carson Musquez of Lubbock; and a son-in-law, Fred Keesee of Edmonson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Workman; a daughter, Ann Keesee; her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
