Santos R. Solis (Plainview)

Santos R. Solis, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Amarillo. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Samuel Oracion officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A Rosary will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Santos was born to Santos and Paula Solis on October 27, 1923 in Edinburg, Texas. He married Elisa Juanita Solis on December 15, 1954 in Plainview, Texas. Mr. Solis worked for Texas A & M agriculture research division for forty two years. He is preceded in death by; his wife, one son, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by three daughters, Ofelia Herrera and husband Hector of Lubbock, TX, Margaret Cortinez and husband Mike of Lubbock, TX, Mary Murillo and husband Salvador of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Joe Solis and wife Brenda of Plainview, TX, Pete Solis and wife Sylvia of Lubbock, TX; three brothers, Cipriano Soliz of Tulia, TX, Jose Guadalupe Solis of Three Rivers, MI, Margarito Solis of Edinburg, TX; one sister, Adela Solis of Edinburg, TX; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
