Opal Johnson (Plainview)

Opal Johnson, 95, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Gruver, TX, with Efraim Gonzalez, grandson officiating. Burial will follow in Gruver Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Opal was born to George and Mittie Miller on October 25, 1915 in Tazwell, Texas. She married Hack Johnson on October 7, 1944, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mittie Miller; and her husband Hack Johnson. She is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Flaniken of Portland, TX, Brenda Gonzalez of Plainview, TX; and one son, Donnie Johnson and wife Judy of El Reno, OK. The family suggests memorials to Area Community Hospice 3109 Ste. C Plainview, Texas 79072. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
