Dewitt Moore (Plainview)

Graveside services for Dewitt Moore, 87, of Lubbock formerly of Plainview, will be held at 10 AM Saturday May 14, 2011 at Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Ted Dotts officiating. Burial is under direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Carillon’s Neil Chapel in Lubbock. Mr. Moore passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Lubbock. He was born May 21, 1923 in Granger, Texas to Cap and Fannie (Partlow) Moore. He married Bobbie Cox on May 28, 1944 in Ackerly. Dewitt was a watch maker and he was also Co-Owner of Hooper’s Sporting Goods in Plainview for many years. They were members of the First Baptist Church in Plainview. Dewitt and Bobbie moved to Lubbock in 1975 where Dewitt went to work for Texas Tech University before retiring in 1986. Dewitt is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Moore who passed away April 12, 2011, his parents, and a grandson, Brandon Moore. Survivors include one son, Van Moore and wife Gloria of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Jason Moore and wife Diana, and Lori DeCoulaz and husband Sean; three great grandchildren, Reagan and Ryan DeCoulaz and Madison Moore; and one brother, Easom Moore of Plainview.
