Richard D. Scott (Plainview)

Richard D. Scott, 85, of Plainview, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011, in Plainview. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 16, 2011 in the Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Foote, pastor of Colonial Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Richard was born on August 2, 1925 in Plainview to Jesse and Sara Jane Scott. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines, New Guinea, and Japan during World War II. He married Evelyn Rannals on December 30, 1950 in Clovis, NM. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2009. He was employed by Western Ag for 18 years and retired in 1990. He was a life time member of the V.F.W. and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Scott; two sons, Gary Scott and Ronnie Scott; and one brother Billy Don Scott. Survivors include his grandson Cody Scott of Amarillo and his granddaughter Stefanie Harris of Amarillo. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
