David Stephenson (Plainview)

David Stephenson, 66, of LaFeria, Texas, formerly of Plainview, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Harlingen, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. David was born on June 4, 1944 in Abilene, Texas to T.O. and Lucille Stephenson. He grew up in Halfway, Texas and attended schools in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. He farmed at Halfway for many years and retired in 1995. He married Gwen Funderburk on February 22, 2002. They moved to the Valley in October of 2010. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. David is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tracy Stephenson; and his brother, Jimmie Stephenson. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Stephenson of LaFeria; his son, Randy Stephenson of Ft. Hood, Texas; his granddaughter, Khodi Foster of Missouri; his sister-in-law, Sandy Stephenson of Casper, Wyoming; his nephews, Jerry Stephenson of North Dakota and Michael Stephenson of Colorado; and one niece, Shay Ann Stephenson of Wyoming.
