Charlotte Martin (Plainview)

Charlotte Cate Martin, 61, of Caldwell, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M., May 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Charlotte was born on August 29, 1949 in Hale Center, Texas to George and Millie Cate. She moved to Lubbock in the late 1980’s where she met her husband Gary Martin. They married on June 18, 1994 and made their home in Shallowater, Texas. In 2008 they moved to Caldwell, Texas where they built their retirement home together. She was currently working in Dallas as an Independent Insurance Adjuster for the past 12 years. She previously worked as a Dialysis Technician for many years in Lubbock, Hereford, and Odessa. Survivors include her husband Gary Martin of 17 wonderful years; one son, Barton Nixon and wife Theresa of Ralls, Texas; two step-sons, Kyle Martin and wife Chrissona of Trenton, Texas, Mark Nixon of Independence, Missouri; two step-daughters, LaShae Martin of Mesquite, Texas, Debbie Dury of Independence, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren; siblings, Alvie Jones & wife Irene of Fairfield, CA, James Cate & wife Reda, Freddy Cate & wife Lynda, Nancy Greer & husband Fred, Charles Cate all of Plainview, Joe Cate & wife Carolyn, Billy Ray Cate, Vita Sherrill all of Lubbock, TX, Thelma Rowlett & husband Paul of Amarillo, TX.
