Connie Rivera, 66, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be held Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 6:30 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Connie was born October 27, 1944 to Rafael and Candelaria Medina in Lockhart, TX. She married Carlos Rivera, Sr. on January 27, 1963 in Plainview, TX. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Candelaria Medina; one son, David Rivera; and one sister, Elidia M. Rivera. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Rivera, Sr. of Plainview, TX; three daughters, Yolanda Rivera of Plainview, TX, JoAnn Cheek & husband Jimmy of Abilene, TX, and Mary Landeros & husband Mario of Plainview, TX; three sons, Roman Rivera & wife Sonya of Mansfield, TX, Carlos Rivera, Jr. of Plainview, TX, and Daniel Rivera of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Robert Medina of Plainview, TX, and Rafael Medina, Jr. of Austin, TX; seven sisters, Mary Pedrosa of Plainview, TX, Gloria Ferrer of Plainview, TX, Rosa Gallardo of Plainview, TX, Anna Rivera of San Antonio, TX, Vicky Robles of Borger, TX, Maria Tovar of Oshkosh, WI, and Juana Mendoza of Hereford, TX; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
