Fidela M. Mata (Tulia)

Fidela Molina Mata, 87, of Tulia, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Rosary will be Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Fidela was born June 11, 1924 to Fidel and Jesusa Molina in Karnes City, Texas. She married Jose Rios Mata. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rios Mata; her parents, Fidel and Jesusa Molina; her daughter, Maria Luisa Herrera; her son, Daniel Mata; one grandson, Daniel Lee Mata; and one great great grandson, Steven Mata. Fidela is survived by three daughters, Teresa Basaldua of Tulia, TX, Anita Mata of Lubbock, TX, and Susie Morales of Lockney, TX; seven sons, Guadalupe Mata of Brownfield, TX, Joe Mata, Jr. of Brownfield, Gildo Mata of Amarillo, TX, Blas Mata of Tulia, TX, Alfred Mata of Lubbock, TX, David Mata of Plainview, TX, and Tony Mata of Corpus Christi, TX; fifty six grandchildren; one hundred thirty one great grandchildren; forty four great great grandchildren.
