Marlin “Joe” Kennedy, 66, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Plainview. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Mr. Jerry Miller of Hart, TX, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Marlin Joe was born on July 6, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas to J. L. & Zelma Kennedy. He was raised and attended schools in Dumas. He loved hunting and fishing. He also did leather work and some crocheting. He was a big fan of old music. Mr. Kennedy was a Certified Mechanic Technician for General Motors in Dumas, Dimmitt, and Olton. Marlin Joe was a member of the Church of Christ in Olton. He is survived by his one daughter, Amanda Garcia & husband Carlos of Earth, TX; two sons, Michael Kennedy & wife Krista of Plainview, TX, and John Kennedy & wife Tonya of Canyon, TX; his mother, Zelma Kennedy of Paris, TX; one sister, Sally Ann Luttrell & husband Roy of Blossom, TX; and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, John L. Kennedy; and one brother, Jerry Wayne Kennedy. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society 3411 73rd.
