Funeral services for Norma D. Bayley, 82, of Plainview, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007 in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church, Plainview, Texas with Dr. Lewis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Bayley passed away late Monday night, June 18, 2007 at her home. Norma was born on February 6, 1925 in Rulo, Nebraska to Leslie and Dorothy Harness. She grew up attended schools there until her family moved to Santa Monica, California. She graduated from Santa Monica High in 1941. She attended Knapp College of Nursing, Santa Monica College, and Wayland Baptist University. She was a nurse for a few years. She married Gerald Bayley on Jan 18, 1945 in Santa Barbara, California. They moved to Plainview in 1956. Norma was the bookkeeper for the family business (Army & Navy Store) for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She participated in many different activities through her church including arts and crafts. Mrs. Bayley was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald on December 3, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Lynn Bayley; a brother, Donald Harness and a sister, Wylene Eslinger. Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl Manning and husband Bob of Austin, Barbara Kurtz of Plainview; two sons, Bruce Bayley and wife Joy of Kingwood, Texas and Mark Bayley and wife Brenda of Plainview; daughter-in-law, Syndie Bayley of Temple, Texas; 10 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. The family suggests memorials to Area Community Hospice, P.O.
