Willie Ballard (Plainview)

Willie Ballard, 86, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Plainview. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 15, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, with Rev. Manuel Rodriguez officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Willie was born on March 23, 1925 to Samuel Lee and Stella Ballard in Ardmore, Oklahoma. His family moved to Quitaque from Oklahoma and then to Plainview. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and was later medically discharged. He married Minnie Whitefield on February 2, 1948. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2010. Willie was a paint contractor for 50 years in Plainview. He also worked on cars and operated various car lots. He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie; his parents; one sister and three brothers. Willie is survived by one daughter, Kathy Moffitt and husband Lex of Plainview; three sons, Rickey Ballard and wife Pearl of New Deal, Rusty Ballard and wife Brenda of Brownwood, Randy Ballard and wife Hollye of Oklahoma City, OK; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
