Lizzie Goree (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Lizzie Goree, 101, died at 9:10pm Monday, January 31, 2005 at the Tulia Health and Rehab. Center in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 4, 2005 in the Jackson Chapel Church of God in Christ with Rev. Matthew Veals, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Tulia officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Goree was born April 27, 1903 in Brenham, Texas. She grew up and attended schools there. She married Floyd Goree. He died in 1967. She moved to Paducah in 1928 and moved to Tulia in 1970. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include One Son and Daughter-in-law: Lee and Marie Burton of Tulia, Texas. One Granddaughter: Darlene North of Tulia, Texas Four Great Grandchildren: Teresa Tinner of Canyon, Texas, Leonard and Malashon Tennison of Lubbock, Texas, Rodney Tinner of Amarillo, Texas Timothy Tinner and his wife Shon of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by 13 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
