Bernard Isom, 93, of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Lockney Care Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mike Isom, a nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Lockney Cemetery. Mr. Isom was born on July 22, 1913 in Eddy, Texas to Hamilton B. and Lena Huber Isom. Bernard moved to Idalou in 1917, attended Idalou schools, and began farming. During WW II he was in the Army Air Force and after the war he came back to Idalou and resumed farming. He married Lorenza Quinn Isom, October 29, 1954, in Clovis, New Mexico. He retired from farming in 1972 and was a member of Lubbock Gem & Mineral Society. He is survived by his wife Lorenza Isom; one brother M.T. “Jack” Isom of Lockney; two sisters Helen Strickland and Louise Giddeon both of Lubbock.
