Tulia, Texas—Linda Mae Jennings Joy, 73, died Monday, October 3, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 in the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Baird and Mr. Bob Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the funeral home. Linda was born August 5, 1938 to Arthur Howard and Myrtle Anna Jennings in Canyon, Texas. She grew up in Tulia and graduated Tulia High School. She graduated from Texas Tech with a business degree. She married Brent Joy on June 29, 1957 in Tulia. She worked for 1st National Bank from 1976 to 2003. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband: Brent Joy of Tulia, one daughter: Dina Koch of Canyon, one son: Brad Joy of Lubbock, one brother and sister-in-law: Ray and Melody Jennings of Tulia, two grandchildren: Will Meek of Amarillo and Ashley Meek of Lubbock. She is preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Myrtle Jennings and her infant daughter: Jayna Mae Joy. Memorials may be made to the High Plains Children’s Home, 11461 S.
