Louise Ahrens, 91, of Olton, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 7, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Hale Center, with Rev. Michael Holmes of St. Martins Lutheran in Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center, TX. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Louise was born on September 12, 1920 in Center Plains in Hale County to John and Dora Schoonvelt. She graduated from Hale Center High in 1938. Louise married Henry on April 24, 1948 in Thrall, Texas. She and Henry farmed in Cotton Center and Olton areas since 1953. They moved to their farm outside Olton in 1969. She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ahrens; and her parents, John and Dora Schoonvelt; and four brothers, Joe Schoonvelt, Henry Schoonvelt, Ivy Schoonvelt, and Johnny Schoonvelt. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Davis and husband Alan of Hale Center; two sons, Wes Ahrens & wife Janice of Danville, CA, and Robert Ahrens & wife Cindy of Hale Center, TX; one sister, Ann Schoonvelt of Plainview, TX; eight grandchildren, Amy & Chris Rowzee, Brad Ahrens, Andrea & Brian Bennett, Jennifer & Rob Sukhija, Brandon & Debbie Ahrens, Lindsay & Matt Grannon, Matt & Jaimie Davis, and Clint Davis; and five great grandchildren, Gavin Rowzee, Katie Bennett, Jasmine & Nate Sukhija, and Avery Ahrens.
