Tulia – Funeral services for Ruby McAnelly, 98, will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. McAnelly passed away on Saturday, March 05, 2005 at Covenant Hospital in Plainview, Texas. She was born on September 23, 1906 in McGregor, Texas. She grew up in Hamilton County and attended schools there. She received her teaching degree from John Tarleton State College in Stephenville. She married Buddy McAnelly on December 31, 1927 in Hamilton County. He passed away in 1966. They moved to Tulia in 1945. She taught school off and on for 60 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Guild Circle Ladies Grup and the Arminda Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Unity Study Club, Elkins Home Demonstration Club, Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce, and was selected as Tulia’s Woman of the Year in 1993. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Bill Daniel of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Linda McAnelly of Amarillo; one sister, Bertie Lou Rae of Garland, Texas; three grandchildren, Bilinda and Willis McCutcheon of Plainview, Russell and Karen Daniel of Amarillo, and Bruce Daniel of Amarillo; six great grandchildren, Will and Wes McCutcheon of Plainview, Chris Daniel of Clemson, South Carolina, Robert and Breanna Daniel of Amarillo, Amy and husband Cody Gray of Amarillo.. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Billy E. McAnelly; a daughter, Susan McAnelly; one brother and three sisters. The family suggest memorials to the Tulia Cemetery Association, P.O.
