Jackie Don Tyler, 65, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Kim Hays officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Jackie Don was born on September 9, 1946 in Matador, Texas to Jack and Geneva Tyler. He grew up in Flomot and in Quitaque, Texas and attended schools there. He began at a very young age trading equipment, machinery, appliances, and livestock. He owned and operated Tyler’s Used Tractors and Equipment for many years. He worked in the trading business for over 50 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved his family, friends, horses, fishing, and visiting. Jackie Don married Jerry Beth Grundy on September 11, 1965 in Quitaque, Texas. He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Geneva Tyler, and a great grandson, Kyler Scott Turner. Jackie Don is survived by his wife, Jerry Beth Tyler of the home; one son, Jimmy Don Tyler and Stacy of Plainview; one brother, Darrell Tyler and Brenda of Plainview; three grandchildren, Amber Turner and Rick of Eastland, Hayley and Megan Tyler of Plainview; two nephews and their families, Matt Tyler and Bobby Tyler.
