Lavena "Red" Vandergriff/Wagner(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Lavena “Red” Vandergriff/Wagner, 94, died Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was born on October 18, 1917 in Amarillo, Texas. A family and friends visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. “Red” was a loving wife and nurturing mother. She was a prized asset at numerous jobs in various grocery stores and restaurants as she strived to afford a healthy environment for her family. In the midst of always holding full time jobs at work and at home, she always found time to be the leading cheerleader at any event where her boys were involved. Her entire world always revolved around her family. “Red” is survived by her son Jerry Vandergriff and his wife Rose Ann; her daughter-in-law Sherrill Vandergriff/Overland and her husband Wayne Hutson; her daughter-in-law Jean Vandergriff; a grandson Mike Vandergriff and his wife Christine; a grandson Bo Vandergriff and his wife Nicki; a granddaughter Charlotte Thompson and her husband Bryan; a granddaughter Kim Erbe and her husband Russ; a granddaughter Becky Nugent and her husband Clint; nieces Kay Berry and Mary Ann Barnett and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Clois Vandergriff and Paul Wagner; sons Leon and Joe Vandergriff and her granddaughter: Stacey.
