Tulia, Texas—Lupe Betancourt, 70, died Friday, November 25, 2011 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Delfino Ruiz officiating with a memorial service at 11:00 am at the Central Church of Christ with Rev. Darrell Robertson officiating. She was born April 29, 1941 in Matamoros, Mexico to Domingo and Paula Falcon. She grew up in Rio Hondo, Texas and attended schools there. She married Luis Betancourt on June 27, 1961 in Brownsville. They moved to the Texas South Plains in 1963. She worked for the Tulia Day Care for 16 years in the nursery. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Her family includes her husband: Luis Betancourt of Tulia, one son and daughter-in-law: Prim and Sharon Betancourt of Amarillo, three daughters and sons-in-law: Gloria and David Sterling of Arlington, Grace and Frank Subealdea of Tulia and Lynn and Murdock Halligan of Faith, South Dakota, 12 grandchildren: Shelby Betancourt, Jackie (Juan) Ramirez, Roxanne (Sam) Rodriguez, LaToya (Mohammad) Allan, Curtis Rodriquez, Stephen Sterling, Isaiah, Daniel and Noe Subealdea, Jarius, Jerin and Krece Halligan, and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Isaiah, Daniel, and Noe Subealdea, Curtis Rodriquez, Jarius (J.J.) Halligan, and Stephen Sterling.
