Laura Wines (Plainview)

Laura Wines, 91, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, December 05, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M until the service on December 7, 2011 at the funeral home. Laura was born on March 24, 1920 in the Cahill Community near Alvarado, Texas to Charles and Mable Childress. On June 1, 1941, she married A.O. Wines in Chillicothe, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1983. Laura was a beautician, a homemaker and a longtime member of Plainview First United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mable Childress; three brothers, Charles, James and Mack Childress; and one sister, Freda Sargeant. Survivors include nieces and nephews, her friends, and her loving caregivers. The family suggests memorials in Laura’s name to First United Methodist Church 1001 W. 7th Street Plainview, Texas 79072.
