Paul Tong (Tulia)

Paul Tong, 48, died Monday, March 21, 2005 at Swisher Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 in the Assembly of God with Rev. Bill Guenther officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. He was born on August 13, 1956 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He attended schools there and graduated from Northside High School in 1974. He attended many colleges and received degrees in a number of professions. He worked in the prison system for 18 years as a Safety officer for Region 5. They moved from Memphis, Texas to Tulia in 1996. He went back to school and received his degree in education from WTAMU in 2002. He taught junior high history in Tulia. He was a member of the Assembly of God and taught the adult Sunday school class. He married Mary Hawthorne on November 19, 1992 in Memphis, Texas. He is survived by his wife Mary Tong of Tulia; a son, Christopher Paul Tong of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Robert Lee Tong of Houston, and Donald Ray Tong of Ft. Worth; Four Nieces and Four Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Leona Tong. The family suggests memorials to the Assembly of God, 4th and Austin Street, Tulia, Texas 79088.
