Elida "Lillie" Granado (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Elida “Lillie” Granado, 76, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Amarillo. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marcos Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the funeral home. Lillie was born September 28, 1935 in Martindale, TX where she grew up. She married Ladislao “Lee” Granado on October 2, 1954 in Nazareth. She worked for the Tulia Steam Laundry. They moved to Hereford in 1980 and she worked for the Laundry there until they moved to Big Spring in 1983 when she began to work for the State Hospital there. She retired in 1993 and moved back to Tulia. Lee died September 25, 1986. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit and the Guadalupanas. Survivors include one daughter: Paula Perea of Amarillo, one son: Jimmy Granado of Tulia, a nephew she raised as a son: Jorge Zuniga of Amarillo, four brothers: Andres Zuniga of Austin, Bert Zuniga and Henry Zuniga of Amarillo and David Zuniga of Ft. Worth, three sisters: Consuelo Cortez and Susie Neito of Seguin and Mary Jane Esparza of Amarillo, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Lee Granado, one daughter: Teresa Moreno, one son: Rudy Granado and one brother: George Suniga, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4687 N.
