Bill J. Immel Bill J. Immel, age 76, went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2005. He died in Kerrville, Texas. Family visitation will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 4-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, officiated by Dr. John Petty. On Saturday, March 26, 2005, there will be viewing at the Plainview, Texas, Kornerstone Funeral Directors at 1 p.m., and a graveside service in Plainview Cemetery at 2 p.m. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hooper Immel of Kerrville. He is also survived by their daughter, Deanne Immel of San Antonio. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel Immel and Addie Shockler Immel. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Elmer Immel, Elzie Immel, Vernie Immel and Louise Immel Turner. Mr. Immel was born in Kress, Texas, on Oct. 25, 1928. His family soon purchased a ranch near Higgins, Texas, where he was reared. He attended Wayland Baptist University, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from West Texas State University, and did post-graduate work at the University of Chicago. Over his career, he taught math in Panhandle, was the high school principal in Pearsall and Uvalde, and assistant high school principal in Kerrville. Bill was an ordained deacon and member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a member of the Kerrville Rotary Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prime Time Ministry of Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Jackson Road, Kerrville, Texas, or to the organization of your choice.
