Jake W. Jones (Plainview)

Jake W. Jones, 90, of Kress, passed away on December 27, 2011 in Plainview. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Willborn officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Jake Jones was born May 6, 1921 at Estelline, TX to Judson & Jennie Hibbs Jones. He attended Estelline schools until his senior year then joined the United States Army in 1938. He was in the 796th Military Police, served under Gen. Patton for 33 ½ months. He married Maxine Brandes November 17, 1946. They moved to Claytonville and farmed from 1954-1972. He retired and traveled the U.S. and Canada and enjoyed time with his grandkids and fishing. He is survived by his wife Maxine Jones; one daughter, Nancy Jones; two sons and daughters in law, Dickie, & Tammy Jones, Max & Marian Jones; ten grandkids and eleven great grandkids. The family suggests memorials to Kress Methodist Church 110 Ripley Ave. Kress Texas 79052 or a charity of your choice.
