Canyon, Texas-Kendrick Ray Powell, 22, formerly of Tulia, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with Father Ken Keller, and Rev. Charles Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at the church. Kendrick was born March 3, 1989 in Plainview. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 2007. He worked for Big N farm store and Lowe’s grocery store in Tulia. He married Kristi Ramaekers on September 25, 2010 in Nazareth. He was currently attending Amarillo College working on a welding certification and was to graduate in May 2012. He was currently employed with Make America Beautiful Lawn Mowing Service. Kendrick and Kristi are expecting their first child in September. His family includes his wife: Kristi Powell of Canyon, his unborn child, his mother: Gwen Powell of Tulia, his father: Kenneth Powell, Sr. of Tulia, his parents-in-law: Henry and Linda Ramaekers of Nazareth, his other parents: Gay and Elmo Sorrells of Tulia and Charlotte and Jay Smith of Tulia, his brother: Kenneth Powell of Amarillo, his other brothers and sisters: Jill and Shawn Pohlmeier of Panhandle, Mary Ellen and Jeremy Simpson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Heidi Ramaekers of Canyon, Shaye and Ty Grimsley of Tulia, Tausha and Derrick Schacher of Nazareth, Brian and Nicole Gore of Tulia, Steven and Gina Sorrells of Tulia, his grandparents: Nannie Jackson of Plainview, Rose Mary Ramaekers of Canyon, Ellen Collins of Hereford, Neva Sorrells of Tulia and Betty and Jimmy Elliott of Ft.
