Harrold D. Rhodes, 78, of Petersburg passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at his home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Abernathy Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview. Mr. Rhodes grew up on the family farm near Abernathy. He graduated from Abernathy High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He returned home to farm. He also owned and operated Petersburg Implement for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg. He married Colline Williams on August 4, 1951 in Petersburg, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Colline Rhodes of the Home; two sons, Rick Rhodes of Framingham, Massachusetts, Tim Rhodes of Seattle, Washington; one daughter, Lorna Brown of Boise, Idaho; three brothers, Skeet Rhodes of Georgetown, Texas, Don Rhodes of Lubbock, Texas, Wayne Rhodes of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Margie Smith of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Heidi Brown, Luke Brown, and Connor Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Ruth Rhodes, and siblings, Orene Lloyd, Ladell Rhodes, and Jewel Rhodes. The family suggests memorials to Favorite Charity.
