Lena Powell (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Lena Powell, 87, died Friday, February 10, 2012 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Central Church of Christ in Tulia with Mr. Bruce Baird and Mr. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Powell was born February 10, 1925 in Paris, Texas. She grew up in Dimmitt, Texas and graduated from Dimmitt High School. She married John F. “Mike” Powell in Dimmitt. In the early 1950’s they moved to Tulia. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ. Her husband Mike died on October 5, 1984. She is survived by her children: Patty Mahler and husband Ken of Montgomery, Texas, Steve Powell and wife Roxanne of Anton, Texas and Delia Gray of Tulia, twelve grandchildren: Trent Powell and wife Ginger, Kenny Powell and wife Jenny, Lindsey Long and husband Joe, Jason Mahler and wife Geran, Kaci Mahler, Susan Micho and husband Bill, Beth Feucht and husband Paul, Paul Mahler and wife Helen, Keith Mahler and wife Janet and Todd Mahler, Amber Barrett and husband Greg, Elizabeth Mulson and 18 great grandchildren and numerous very special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John "Mike" Powell and two brothers: Raymond White and Howard Garrett.
