John Rowell (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—John Andrew Rowell, 40, of San Angelo died at 9:35 am Wednesday, April 20, 2005 in San Angelo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005 in the First Baptist Church of Tulia with Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. John was born in Amarillo, Texas on December 18, 1964. His adoptive parents, H.L. and Jean Rowell, Jr. brought him home to Tulia when he was 3 days old. John attended Tulia schools and graduated from Tulia High School in 1984. He was active in the Tulia Little League Baseball program and Tulia Boy Scouts. After he graduated he attended Wayland Baptist University his freshman year and then joined the US Air Force. He was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base at Wichita Falls for a 16 week medical specialist fundamental course and then went to Carswell AFB in Ft. Worth where he completed the clinical training portion of the medical service specialist career field. He was later stationed at Lackland AFB and Kelly AFB in San Antonio and at Beale AFB in Sacramento, CA where he served as Medical Technician. After his discharge he moved to San Angelo. Survivors include: His Parents: Jean and H.L. Rowell, Jr. of Tulia One sister: Jean Ann Butler of Griffin, Georgia Several aunts, uncles and cousins Memorials may be made to a favorite church of charity.
