Margaret Dines, 82, of Lubbock passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Rev. Ken Horn, Chaplain of NursCare Hospice of Lubbock officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Dines was born in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and Kress, Texas. She was a machinist in Oklahoma City during WWII. She returned to Kress after the war. She married J.W. Dines, III on February 7, 1946 in Plainview. She was a homemaker. After the kids got older, she purchased the Shopper’s Mart in Kress and operated it for 17+ years. She retired in 1984. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kress. She is survived by her husband, J.W. Dines of Lubbock; one daughter, Jackie Graham of Lubbock; one son, Jim Dines of Duncan, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Keith Graham and Kevin Graham of Lubbock, Judy Dines of Duncan, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Gladys Anderson and a brother, Robert Edward Anderson. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family suggests memorials to NursCare Hospice of Lubbock or the Alzheimer’s Association.
