W.C. “Woody” Harper, 93, of Plainview passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel in Plainview with Danny Andrews and Steve Olson officiating. Martin Duckett will play piano. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Woody was born on December 6, 1918, the youngest of 10 children, to William and Fannie Harper in Goldthwaite, Texas. Over seventy years ago he married Louise Hooper in Anton, Texas. In 1946, they moved to the then Happy Union community, south of Plainview. He was a long-time farmer in Hale County, a member of First Baptist Church and liked fishing, hunting, and playing dominos. He served in the Merchant Marines. He is survived by his wife, Louise, of Plainview; daughter Gail McEachern & her husband Larry of Lubbock; granddaughters, Gina Oseguerra and Brittany McEachern; and great grandchildren, Christian, Daniella, and Spencer Oseguerra. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon Sue Harper, and grandson, Danny Joe Green.
